Week Note, Y22 W36

192 words about life — 08:21 · 11th Sep 2022

This week:

  • work (Redgate) celebrated its 21st birthday—with food vans and a visit to John Lewis

  • Jude’s been taking quite a few steps on his own and climbed all the way up the stairs on his own!

  • Queen Elizabeth II, famous colonial monarch died—now would be a good time to decolonise!

  • after 6 months since I had Covid-19, I finally went out for a run again—Bohr Effect trial #7 was about as shit as the first trial back in October last year—but it’s slow and tedious progress I suppose

  • favourite song: Cat’s In The Cradle by The Relentless

  • currently reading: Pedagogy of Freedom: Ethics, Democracy, and Civic Courage by Paulo Freire

  • Covid-19 cases (UK): 23,771,572 (11th September)1

  • Monkeypox cases (UK): 3,490 (5th September)2

I’m feeling quite tired today.

  1. An interactive web-based dashboard to track COVID-19 in real time

  2. Kraemer, Tegally, Pigott, Dasgupta, Sheldon, Wilkinson, Schultheiss, et al. Tracking the 2022 Monkeypox Outbreak with Epidemiological Data in Real-Time. The Lancet Infectious Diseases. https://doi.org/10.1016/S1473-3099(22)00359-0
